We are delighted to welcome back Dance classes this Autumn here at Cottenham Village College.

We are thrilled to welcome Anna Harris, our wonderful new Dance tutor to our Adult Learning team.  Anna is a qualified IDTA dance teacher and has many years of dance experience; dancing and performing in some of London’s most prestigious venues and beyond.

Anna has also led teaching, concept creation, direction and choreography for many educational settings, youth, and community groups, including Cambridge’s Bodywork Studios.

Anna will be teaching two new courses this Autumn, both taking place in our Dance Studio at the Sports Centre.

Beginner Ballet (Anna Harris) 7 – 8pm

5 weeks

Fee: £32

For anyone wanting to have some fun, do some light exercise and learn a new or refresh an old skill. In beginner Ballet, we will work on basic techniques at the barre and in the centre with a focus on strengthening our core and maintaining a correct posture. Every class will finish with the opportunity to put some of these skills to work in a short dance piece which we will build on each week. Wear comfortable stretchy clothes, bring a bottle of water and ballet or soft jazz shoes if you have them, if not some sensible socks are fine to start you off.

Beginner Jazz (Anna Harris)  8 - 9pm

5 weeks

Fee: £32

Get your body moving and have some fun whilst learning some basic Jazz techniques. This class is for everyone who loves to move and would like to express themselves in this creative way. Exercises will include some centre work and basic travelling and gentle turns for those able. Each class will include working on a short routine to a range of music, anything from musical theatre to old and new modern pop and jazz classics. Wear comfortable stretchy clothes, bring a bottle of water and jazz shoes or trainers if you have them, if not some sensible socks are fine to start you off.

The courses will start on Monday 14th November, running for 5 consecutive weeks.
