Course title: Adult Tap – Beginners (Level 3)

Brief Description
For those who have already learned the basics, this class is designed to build on steps, equivalent to Grades 1 to 3, and to develop them in more challenging combinations.  The first half of the course will be spent on developing technique while the latter half will concentrate on choreography.  So join us and bring a little bit of Fred Astaire to your Wednesday evenings! 
 
Learning outcome :
You will have learnt the equivalent to Grades 1 to 3 steps and be able to demonstrate these through combinations to music.  You will be able to recall longer sequences to build on movement memory and technical skills.  You will also have improved confidence in your body and dance skills.

Tap shoes optional 

What you need to bring to the first session :
Please wear suitable clothing for dance, such as leggings/jogging bottoms and a t-shirt.  Tap shoes are not an initial requirement but suitable footwear such as ballet pumps, low-heeled ballroom/character shoes or jazz shoes should be worn.  Please bring a bottle of water, if required.

How progress & success will be recorded :
As students learn the steps they should be able to perform more complex steps and dance to increasingly wider variety of music styles.  Direct feedback and support will be provided during class.

On completion of the course, what might your next steps be :
To continue the class to refine tap skills and keep up your new level of co-ordination and fitness.  To move on to a Beginners (Level 3) class should one be available.
