Course title Watercolour Painting Location : Cottenham Day : Wednesday Start Date : 21st September 2011 Time : 7.00-9.00pm Weeks : 10 Price : £90(F)/£68(R) Brief Description Watercolour painting is a very challenging means of expression which requires practice and stamina to master. The course will cover all aspects of watercolour painting, from beginners to advanced levels, including mark-making, washes, colour mixing, composition and guidance on choosing and exploring different approaches and subject matter. Learning outcomes : By the end of the course, learners will be able to apply washes, select colours, compose successfully and complete pictures in a variety of styles/ genres of their choice, using colour confidently. You will have a broader grasp of materials and techniques and be able to make personal artistic choices with confidence. Extra costs on the course : Learners should supply their own materials What you need to bring to the first session : Watercolour paper (in a pad, minimum A4 size), selection of brushes and paint. Drawing paper is optional but useful. For beginners, the advice is not to buy expensive equipment at the outset, go for middle range as this is more likely to be serviceable and affordable. How progress & success will be recorded : Progress will be recorded photographically and by revisiting work completed and assessing distance travelled On completion of the course, what might your next steps be : Progression within the group is always possible as the skills taught can be extended to higher and more challenging levels.
